Support for an innovative online platform in agriculture

For a wide range of products and services, mainly in the field of agriculture, "diVision Agro d.o.o." from Sarajevo also added a new, unique service that allows users to forecast the occurrence of plant diseases and pests and provides a precise calendar for irrigation. The service was developed through the online platform "AgroMonitor", which brings together all the tools needed to analyse climate, pedagogical, spatial, organizational and sociological data, as well as the tools for collecting, storing and presenting them.

Thanks to this platform, farmers, advisers, as well as agricultural services at the local community level can find specific information for specific geographical points in one place, which makes it easy for them to plan and carry out certain activities in order to obtain better quality and healthier products.

"The irrigation calendar determines when and how much to irrigate crops, which directly affects the quality and quantity of products, as well as the rational use of water resources. A model for predicting the occurrence of plant diseases and pests reduces the use of pesticides, which raises the health of the product while reducing the adverse environmental impact: water and soil pollution and preventing hazardous waste. The implementation of innovative software solutions for water management in agriculture will ensure better utilization of the genetic potential of cultivated plants, which will significantly reduce the vulnerability of BiH agriculture to the negative effects of climate change, ”the company explains the benefits of this project.

Two people were hired at the beginning of the project - one external associate and one directly employed by the company, and the project will indirectly affect the creation of a number of new jobs.

"Once the platform comes to life, our company plans to hire two young agronomists so we can register as a private agricultural advisory service", they say.

The total value of the project is 22.008 euros, and its implementation with a grant of 8.400 euros was supported by the Challenge Fund.

"The support provided by the C2C Fund is of great importance to all small businesses that are not initially strong enough to create, refine or integrate products that they want to offer to the market. In addition to financial assistance, large and significant support lies in the promotion of the product itself to the wider market, which is often very difficult to reach, ”point out diVision Agro d.o.o.
